Policymakers in Santa Fe will be considering a variety of issues directly affecting the practice of anesthesiology in our state. We encourage physicians, Anesthesiologist Assistants, and members of the public to contact their legislators encouraging them to protect physician-led care and patient safety throughout New Mexico.
Senate Bill 35 is key to expanding the Anesthesia Care Team by allowing Anesthesiologist Assistants to continue to practice in New Mexico past 2025 and updating the supervision ratio to align with current CMS standards.
